Forest / Wild Fire in Bulgaria on Tuesday, 06 August, 2013 at 17:03 (05:03 PM) UTC.
Description | |
A large wildfire has erupted Tuesday afternoon near the mountain village of Mursalevo close to the town of Kocherinovo in Bulgaria's soutwestern Kyustendil region. The fire supposedly started in a sheep keeping shed and then quickly spread on to the nearby field and forest, facilitated by dry vegetation. The area engulfed by flames has not been estimated yet, but the E-79 news site reports that a whole forested ridge is burning. A team of firefighters has been deployed to the area, but their efforts are largely rendered inutile by the wind and dry conditions, reports E-79. |
